A 42-year-old auto parts worker died after a heavy piece of equipment fell on him inside a Shelby Township plant in Michigan, March 21.
According to reports, Shelby Township fire and police responded to a 911 call from Mollertech, LLC, after one worker was killed when a five-ton die fell on him. The worker, whose anonymity was requested by his family, was reportedly working on an overhead crane when they heavy equipment fell on him.
Fire Chief James Swinkowski said the incident was still under investigation regarding whether there was a failure somewhere in the working process that lead to the fatal accident. Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration are set to release the cause of the incident at a later time.
