300K teddy bears recalled for choking hazard
Build-A-Bear Workshop announced last week that it will be recalling nearly 300,000 teddy bears for a potential choking hazard.
The “Colorful Hearts Teddy Bears” are the object of the recall. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the bears’ eyes could come off and become a choking hazard for young children. There have been no reports of injuries because of the recall.
The “Colorful Hearts Teddy Bears” are white with multicolored hearts on the body. The teddy bear was sold online and in Build-A-Bear Workshop stores from April to December this year in the United States and Canada. Consumers who have purchased the “Colorful Hearts Teddy Bear” can return it to any Build-A-Bear location and exchange it for a coupon for any stuffed animal.
