A boating accident involving the collision of two boats on Lake St. Clair left one person dead and six other people injured.
Just before 1 a.m. the driver of one of the boats made a mayday call to the coast and told officials that passengers had been ejected into the water. The Coast Guard responded to the call and were able to recover nine of the 10 people that were involved in the crash.
The 10th victim was discovered after a dive team searched the water. Officials believe that the low lighting on the lake may have had something to do with the accident, but a full investigation is underway.
Boating accidents can cause serious injury to passengers in the boat, our condolences are with the friends and family of the victims.
