Former hockey player struck and killed by train

A former hockey player was killed after he was struck by a train in Shoreview.

The man played hockey at Michigan State University and then played minor league hockey until 1978 when he played for the professional team, the Philadelphia Flyers.

The man was standing on the railroad when the accident occurred. The engineer allegedly sounded the horn and attempted to stop, but was unable to. The man was visiting family in the area when the accident occurred.

Car and train involved in strange hit-and-run accident

According to Detroit Police a train and car were involved in a hit-and-run accident on the east side of Detroit.

The police have said that the driver of a Ford Taurus was attempting to beat a train and go under the safety gates. The car did not make is across the tracks in time and was struck by the train. The driver of the car continued to drive off after he was struck by the train.

Man killed in accident on train tracks

Police are investigating a train accident on the tracks near Michigan Avenue that left one man dead on Saturday.

The train was traveling from Grand Rapids to Detroit on the CSK rail when the accident occurred. Investigators believe that the man was part of the area’s homeless community and that he may have been walking to close to the train tracks when the accident occurred. Police are working with evidence found on the scene and information from witnesses to find more details of the crime.

One killed, one injured in car and train collision

One person was killed and one was injured after a car slammed into the side of a train in Woodhaven on Sunday.

The accident occurred east of Interstate 75 at 2:25 a.m. when the car drove around the crossing gates and struck the train. The gates were down and the warning lights were flashing as the 10 to 12 car train passed through the tracks.

A 21-year-old man was killed in the accident and his friend, both from Detroit, was injured. Officials have said that the incident is under investigation and no further information is available as of now.

A man was walking with two other people when he sat down on a train track in near Wayland. After he sat down, he was struck and killed in a train accident.

Witnesses told police that the train honked his horn and the man either ignored it or did not hear it. The man was struck by a northbound multi-car train. The train tried different ways to stop before reaching the man, but it was unsuccessful. The two people with the man also tried to administer first aid to the man.
