Infant seat recalled after injuries reported

Britax Child Safety Inc., the manufacturer of the infant seats, and the Consumer Product and Safety Commission have announced the recall of the “Chaperone Infant Car Seats.”

Nearly 23,000 infant seats were sold throughout the state of Michigan and nationwide. The recall was issued  after reports of children suffering from  lacerations and scratches were made and it was found that the seat poses a potential choking hazard.

The firm has received four reports of the chest clip breaking, three reports of the child receiving lacerations and one report of the child placing the clip in their mouth. The seats were sold for $230 between April 2009 and May 2010.
