Couple files wrongful death suit over death of 4-month old
A Detroit couple recently filed a wrongful death lawsuit concerning the death of a 4-month old girl. The lawsuit is filed against the manufacturer of a portable baby recliner called the Nap Nanny.
The recliner was installed in the infant’s crib. In July 2010, the parents found their daughter in her crib, not breathing. The girl’s face had become stuck between part of the recliner and the crib.
The product’s manufacturer issued a recall of 30,000 Nap Nanny’s after the infant’s death. According to the lawsuit, the manufacturer was negligent in not including information or proper warning labels on the product or its packaging concerning suffocation hazard.
