Detroit ranks number 17 in dog bites on letter carriers
According to the U.S. Postal Service, the city of Detroit ranks number 17 for the number of the dog attacks to postal letter carriers with attacks on 20 people last year.
Houston, Texas ranked number one with 64 dog attacks. The study was done in more than 1,400 cities and 5,669 employees were attacked nationwide.
This week the Postal Service is recognizing National Dog Bite Prevention Week in order to educate those on responsible pet ownership. A few tips to avoid a dog attack are to not run from a dog and to avoid eye contact.
