Hospital involved in wrongful death lawsuit
A hospital received $323,000 as a part of a civil wrongful death case after a 93-year-old man froze to death because a device was placed on his electricity meter when he had unpaid bills.
Bay City Medical Center received $323,000 because the man left his money to the hospital in his will. The family filed the wrongful death suit against Bay City and Bay City Electric Light & Power. An autopsy showed that the man died of hypothermia. Family members also received about $6,000 each as a result of the case.
Our thoughts are with the friends and family of the man at this time.
