Michigan Traffic Laws For 2003

257.676 Amends the Michigan Vehicle Code to eliminate the requirement to set the parking brake of a vehicle equipped with an automatic transmission if the transmission is set to park.

257.907 Amends the Michigan Vehicle Code to increase the fine for parking in a handicap space to $100-$200 plus court costs.

257.625 Amends the Michigan Vehicle Code to lower the prohibited alcohol content from .10 to .08 grams per 210 liters of breath.  Also prohibits operation of a vehicle with any amount of a controlled substance listed in schedule 1 under MCL 333.7212 or cocaine or coca leaf derivatives listed in schedule 2 under MCL 333.7214(a)(iv).

257.255 Amends the Michigan Vehicle Code to change expired/fail to display valid registration plate from a misdemeanor to a civil infraction. Commercial vehicle violation remains a misdemeanor.

257.628 Amends the Michigan Vehicle Code to include a township board as a signing party on a Traffic Control Order for a speed limit on a county road. Requires unanimous determination.
