OSHA fines Michigan-based carpentry company

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration has fined a Michigan-based carpentry company, Cedar Creek Carpentry Inc., nearly $56,000 after an August inspection.

According to officials and the OSHA report, investigators allegedly found “willful safety violations exposing carpenters to fall hazards.”

A willful violation alleges that the company has intentionally disregarded safety concerns that are required and that they were indifferent about the safety of their employees. OSHA officials have said that the company has a history of ignoring fall concerns of the their employees.
