Shelled hazelnuts recalled due to E. Coli contamination
DeFranco & Sons has announced the recall of certain packages of hazelnuts after it was found that they may be contaminated with E. Coli.
There were seven cases of people getting E. Coli infections. These nuts were sold nationwide, but the cases were in Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota.
The recalled nuts were sold under the product names Sunripe, George Packing, Northwest Hazelnut and Firestone Farms. The FDA and company are urging consumers to check their products in order to see if it is involved in the recall.
