West Michigan woman killed after a motorcycle and deer collision

A 43-year-old woman from West Michigan was killed after a motorcycle crash occurred when her motorcycle struck a deer while traveling in Ionia.

The accident occurred at 7:30 p.m. when the motorcycle the woman and her husband were traveling on got into the path of a deer. The vehicle struck the deer and the impact caused the woman to be thrown from the motorcycle and into the roadway.

She was then struck by a van that was unable to stop in time. The husband was injured and transported to the hospital where he is currently listed in stable condition.

Our deepest condolences are with the friends and family of the victim at this time.
