Woman seriously injured after railroad accident
Police are currently investigating an accident that occurred at a railroad intersection in Dearborn and injured a 46-year-old woman.
The crash occurred just after noon when the city employee was shoveling snow on the east side of Monroe and one of the blades on the plow hit a rail on the train track.
The tractor driver attempted to dislodge the blade from the tracks, but was unable to move before the tractor was struck by the train that was heading west. The woman was then transported to the hospital where she was treated for serious injuries.
Railroad accidents can be extremely serious and cause injury to anyone involved. Our thoughts are with the friends and family of the victim in the accident as she recovers.
